February Newsletter
Greetings! As we near the end of the mid-winter Sunday afternoon gigs on the Isle of Wight, I'm already making plans for some ticketed concerts in the Spring and Summer.
As a working musician, my low-budget lifestyle often restricts me from using the latest technology. This, in turn, limits the type of social media content I can create for these newsletters and other formats. However, I recently upgraded to fibre-optic broadband in my house and my partner Linda got a refurbished smartphone. This allows us to capture better live videos during the gigs, which were not possible before.
I use a clunky movie-editing software to turn these short clips into quick collages, giving an idea of what the live performance was like. The first video is from the Ship and Castle a few weeks ago, where you can hear parts of original songs such as the very latest one "Roll on the Day," and then "Angel," "Yellow Boat," Wreckers Prayer (from The Rowan Tree) and and "For the Rebels" (from Philosophical).
The next video montage is from my first appearance at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Yarmouth last Sunday. It was a lot of fun, with many friends and neighbours in attendance. We'll be back for a couple of lunchtime gigs in the Summer.
If you happen to be within reach of Ryde on Sunday 19th of February, I’ll be playing at “The Veteran” between 4 and 6pm and it would be great to see some familiar faces. That’s down on the Esplanade right opposite the bus station, (the former Marine Bar.)
I hope you enjoy the videos and thank you for your support.
Andy
